The Oriental Ceramic Society is delighted to announce a guided viewing of the special exhibition “Tang Vogue Beyond the Horizons: A Golden Era of Multicultural Integration and Openness” at Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, with curator Mr Lleyton Lee.
This exhibition illustrates the multicultural fusion and openness of the Tang dynasty (618–907). Its eight sections include displays of its efficient governance system and how the capital city Chang’an was planned and built. Other displays focus on literati lifestyle, craftsmanship, and the coexistence of Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism and foreign religions. Exhibits also illustrate the prosperity of the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road, including Hong Kong’s position as an important maritime node. The exhibition features altogether 298 pieces/sets of exhibits which are drawn from 28 cultural institutions in mainland China and include 29 important archaeological finds dated to the Tang dynasty unearthed in Hong Kong.
Lleyton Lee is an assistant curator at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre.
Please note that pre-registration is required to enter the museum as this is a guided viewing specially arranged for the OCS. Drop-ins will not be entertained.
*Please note that guided tour reservation will be closed on 23 October 2025 day-end.
