The Oriental Ceramic Society is delighted to announce an exclusive guided viewing of the special exhibition “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time — In Search of Chinese Art of Scent” at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, with Ms Rachel Y. T. Lee.
This exhibition presents Chinese fragrance culture in all its splendour and diversity. 160 sets of artefacts, spanning from the Neolithic period to the Qing dynasty, are showcased. By taking the audience on an olfactory journey across thousands of years, this exhibition allows visitors to experience the enduring appeal and wholesome effects of fragrances as our ancient forbears did.
The exhibition is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum, solely sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, as a Chinese Culture Festival and Shanghai Culture Week event.
Rachel Y. T. Lee is an Assistant Curator (Chinese Antiquities) at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA). She holds a Master’s degree in Museum Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in the History of Art from the University of Leicester. Her recent curatorial credits at HKMoA have included “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Fragrance of Time — In Search of Chinese Art of Scent” and “Art of Gifting: The Fuyun Xuan Collection of Chinese Snuff Bottles”. Rachel has an extensive background in curatorial work, beginning her curatorial career at London Transport Museum and later at the Hong Kong Palace Museum before joining HKMoA.
Please note that pre-registration is required to enter the museum as this is a guided viewing specially arranged for OCS members on an off-day of the museum. Drop-ins will not be entertained.
*Please note that guided tour reservation will be closed on 30 September at 23:59.
