The OCS is delighted to announce that this year’s AGM Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Peter Lam on Min Chiu Society at 65.
This lecture will introduce the vision, mission and inception of the Min Chiu Society which celebrates its 65th anniversary this year with a large-scale exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. It also touches on its origination, evolution, constitution, club house, members, activities and publications illustrating the Min Chiu members’ true meaning of collection and heritage. It also presents several venerable past members who were generously benefactors to public museums in Hong Kong and overseas.
Prof. Peter Y. K. Lam, Honorary Fellow, Institute of Chinese Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong is both an art historian and museum professional. Before his retirement in 2013 he had been with the Art Museum of the University for four decades and in the last fourteen years its Director/Professor. He is an expert in Chinese ceramics, calligraphy and later decorative arts, having curated and organized many exhibitions and published numerous works on these subjects. He has been a member of the Min Chiu Society since early 1980s.
