This fifth lecture of the series will introduce participants to the Tai Po Wun Yiu kiln site. Known to locals and students for decades, the Tai Po Wun Yiu kiln had been responsible for the firing of blue and white porcelain since the 17th Century. Type-forms, dating and remains of kiln site activity will be discussed.
Prof. Peter Y. K. Lam is Honorary Fellow, Institute of Chinese Studies, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before his retirement in 2013 he had been with the Art Museum of the Chinese University for four decades and was its Director for fourteen of those years.
