Restrained Lustre: Chinese Jades from the Cissy and Robert Tang Collection
by Robert Tang
The OCS is pleased to announce a lecture by Robert Tang on his collection of Chinese jades currently on view at the Art Museum, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
This exhibition of Chinese jades from the Cissy and Robert Tang collection features 109 jades dating from the Neolithic times to the late Qing period (1644Â-1911), and highlight the collectors’ taste and preference for archaic jades focusing especially on personal ornaments, human-like sculptures and literati accoutrements.
The exhibition also includes other works from the collection chosen to evoke a quiet and contemplative space in which traditional Chinese literati could enjoy their acquisitions alone or with like-minded friends.
