Following a successful handling session and introduction to jades of the Warring States Period to Han Dynasty with Renee Chiang and Bao Pu, a group of members traveled to Taipei to see Betwixt Reality and Illusion: Special Exhibition of Jades from the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty with Dr. Tsai Ching-liang, researcher in the Department of Ancient Artefacts of the National Palace Museum (Taiwan), at the National Palace Museum. Members were also led through Another Look at National Treasures: Select Masterpieces of Painting and Calligraphy with Dr. Roslyn L. Hammers, who offered her thoughts on highlights from the exhibition. After a packed day of exhibition viewings, members were taken to Taichung for an exclusive introduction to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ming-te’s collection of porcelain, bronzes and jades.
