The Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong is delighted to announce a private preview of Christie’s Spring Sale of Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art with Marco Almeida.

As part of its 40th anniversary in Asia, Christie’s will be presenting a series of  auctions in Hong Kong highlighting exceptional works that span art, culture, and craftsmanship. Among the season’s highlights are twenty works from The Ai Lian Tang Collection, one of the world’s most discerning private collections. Spanning 800 years from the Northern Song period (960–1127) to the Qing (1644–1911) dynasty, the selection includes a rare Jin dynasty carved Ding ‘dragon’ dish, a Yuan blue-and-white ‘Jinxiangting’ jar, and a refined Yongzheng famille rose ‘peach’ bowl. Other sale previews will feature Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, alongside Chinese Paintings from esteemed private collections.

Marco Almeida is Senior Vice-President, Senior International Specialist, Head of Department, Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Christie’s Asia Pacific at Christie’s Hong Kong. Born in Brazil and educated in Europe, Marco is fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. Marco holds a Masters Degree in History of Art and Archaeology from SOAS, University of London.

Registration starts at 9:00am. A limited number of places are available, and pre-registration is required. Drop-ins will not be entertained. Attendees are further reminded that photography is not ordinarily permitted.
